In 2013 Medicare Advantage Plan Premiums from CMS will be reduced by 82.7% when an aged, disabled or post-graph member is identified as secondary to Medicare. Medicare Advantage plans face challenges to ensure the accuracy of Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) and Coordination of Benefits (COB) data used to adjust Plan payments. If a Health Plan does not have effective organization, resources, procedures and tools to ensure accurate payments, then the Health Plan is taking on significant compliance risk. Attendees of this session will learn how COB/MSP data is managed; how to identify issues; and how to build competency in this aspect of Health Plan operations.
