For quite some time now, the U.S. healthcare system has been grappling with issues of spiraling costs and disparities in the quality of care delivered. These issues can be attributed to the predominant fee-for-service reimbursement model that rewards quantity over quality, as well as a disjointed healthcare delivery system that has led to gaps and redundancies in care delivery.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) introduced the concept of an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) – a reformed payment and delivery system that addresses some of these issues in the quality of care delivered. Though the proposal under ACA aims at establishing Medicare ACOs, the concept has seen an uptake especially among large commercial health insurers, with several pilot projects already underway. A recent survey conducted by Infosys Public Services indicates over 60% of health insurance plans are still in the planning stages for setting up ACOs. To advance change in the system, it is imperative for payers to embrace the concept of Accountable Care as soon as possible.

In this webinar, you will hear perspectives on deploying accountable care model as well as practical insights regarding system impacts on Provider domain by a pioneer in the health insurance industry.
